Shana Hiatt's Replacement On The WPT

Shana Hiatt's replacement for the fourth season of the World Poker Tour, starting in March 2006, was another beautiful woman, Courtney Friel. After three very successful years, Hiatt had decided to focus on other aspects of her career and not return for the fourth season.

Courtney Friel has been in television for some time now, with experience on E! Entertainment TV, America’s Most Wanted, Nickelodeon and other shows. Originally from the Philadelphia area, she relocated to Las Angeles to begin her education and start her career in television. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from San Diego State University with a minor in Broadcast Journalism.

Here is a quote from the press release announcing her new position with the World Poker Tour.

"I'm thrilled to be the new host for the WORLD POKER TOUR! Mike and Vince are such a great team and they bring their outstanding camaraderie to the show. They've made me feel extremely welcome. For my part, I hope to add a fresh perspective for the WPT fans,” said Courtney. “I look forward to many adventures, meeting interesting people, and of course---traveling around world!

Courtney lists her interests and activities as surfing, traveling and skydiving. I don’t know about skydiving and surfing, but the World Poker Tour will offer her plenty of travel opportunities.

Courtney Friel has since moved on from the World Poker Tour and now continues her career as a news broadcaster.
